HFFE: Hot Fresh Fish Everyday

When I first arrived in Asheville, NC, I had one simple craving — a good, hot, fresh fried fish sandwich. After searching every corner of the city and never finding one, I realized something important:
If I wanted it, others probably did too.

So I prayed and asked God what direction I should take. His answer was clear — sell fish, and become a fisher of men.
That moment birthed HFFE (Hot Fresh Fish Everyday), a food experience built not only to feed people but to lift people.

Our Mission: Great Food, Great Service, Greater Purpose

My mission is simple:
Satisfy as many people as possible with the gift God gave me — cooking the best fish in the world — and help someone else along the way.

With over 30 years in sales and service, I understand that excellent customer service is just as important as excellent food. I love seeing people light up when they taste our fried fish, shrimp, or famous vanilla lemonade. Their joy fuels me — and it’s what keeps HFFE growing.

At HFFE, great service always comes first. Great food is the bonus.

Empowering the Next Generation: HFFE University

Before launching HFFE, I was a youth director at a local nonprofit. I saw firsthand how hungry young men were for opportunity, direction, and real-world skills. So I began inviting them to learn the business with me — from cooking to customer service to running a food operation.

Now, I’m building something even bigger:

HFFE University — a social enterprise designed to train young men in food service, business ownership, financial literacy, and mindset mastery.

Recruits will earn paid training while gaining life-changing skills that can take them far beyond the food trailer.

My long-term vision is to train at least eight young men a year and help two of them become franchise owners of HFFE.
By year three, HFFE aims to be fully certified in disaster relief — inspired by the volunteers and organizations who served Asheville after Hurricane Helene — and train students to serve alongside us.

HFFE is building a multi-dimensional, community-powered food operation. Every fry, every sandwich, every customer interaction is meant to feel like a win-win — joy for the customer, purpose for the team.

One moment I’m especially proud of is serving at Grindfest in Asheville. It was my first event, and the support from friends, community, and young people was overwhelming. It showed me the power of food to inspire, uplift, and connect.

A Lifelong Calling

My cooking journey started early. At just 12 years old, I was cooking for my younger siblings so my mother wouldn’t have to worry when she came home from work. They loved everything I made — and that joy pushed me forward.

Years later, I became an international chef for an organization, creating my own daily menus without a lick of formal training. 

Cooking isn’t just something I do — it’s a gift God placed in me.

HFFE is the expression of that gift.
